33. LOWE, WILLIAM, Belton, near Grantham — Inventor.
Model of a portable bridge, for the use of an army in crossing rivers; and adapted for a landing stage in a tidal river, when fixed on a wharf, as it can be worked out, or in, to suit the ebb and flow of the tide, leaving clear the whole width of river at high water. It might also be used to form communications with the upper floors of detached warehouses, etc.
