From Graces Guide

1429. SHILLIBEER, GEORGE, 40 City Road.

Patent 'vis-a-vis' omnibus, inside seats separated, outside seats reached from interior.

The PATENT VIS-A-VIS OMNIBUS comprises advantages which the omnibuses in use do not possess, both as regards the public and proprietors; viz., free ingress to and egress from the interior. The passengers are not 'packed,' as in the present omnibuses; the outside seats are easily and safely reached, and females can ride outside with propriety. A capote, easily raised, covers two-thirds of the outside passengers in wet weather, thereby greatly benefiting the proprietors. The carriage weighs one ton.
