1904 Indian Reliability Trial

From Graces Guide

Held 26th December 1904 to 2nd January 1905. Organised by the Motor Union of Western India. Route was the 883 miles from Delhi to Bombay. The Gaikwar of Baroda offered a cup for the winner.

The Bombay Motor Car Co undertook to supply petrol along the route to the cars.

  • Agra to Gwalior - 71 miles - Tuesday, Dec. 27
  • Gwalior to Goona - 127 miles - Wednesday,Dec. 28
  • Goona to Sarangpur - 94 miles - Thursday, Dec. 29
  • Sarangpur to Indore - 74 miles - Friday, Dec. 30
  • Indore to Dhulia - 145 miles - Saturday, Dec. 31
  • Dhulia to Nasik - 97 miles - Sunday, Jan. 1
  • Nasik to Bombay - 147 miles - Monday, Jan. 2 Total: 883 miles

The award for the most reliable car went to a 24 h.p. De Dietrich.[2]
