'It will be recollected that Palmer cord tyres were used for the first time on the 60-h.p. Napier, driven by Newton, which broke no fewer than five world’s records for speed at Brooklands on Wednesday last.'[1]

Newton took the 50-mile record at 84.413 (set just two weeks previous) and then continued to take the 100 and 150-mile and hour records.
