'At Brooklands on Saturday, Mr. W. F. Adams, driving a 12.1 rating Vinot car, started at 10.30 a.m. on an attempt to beat the long-distance records in Section B of the cubic capacity classes (for cars not exceeding 2048 cc.), and was successful in improving on the previous best performances for the 50 miles, one hour, and the hundred miles, all of which were held by a Humber car driven by Mr. W. O. Tuck. The new figures are:— Fifty miles, 44min. 4.62 - 69.06 m.p.h. (previous best 46min. B.Bsee.-65.01 m.p.h.). One hour, 68 miles 232 yards - 68.13 m.p.h. (previous best 66 miles 286 yards - 66.16 m.p.h.). Hundred miles, 1h. 27m. 46.92s. - 68.35 m.p.h. (previous best 1h. 28m. 56.02s. - 67.47 m.p.h.'[1]
