'Mr. Percy Lambert, driving a 25 h.p. Talbot at Brooklands yesterday morning, covered 50 miles in the new world's record time of 27m. 2.23sec., equal to a speed of 110.96 miles per hour. On the way he established a new intermediate world's record of 50 kilometres in 16 min 52.72eec. This Talbot 25-h.p. four-cylinder engine improved on the times recently recorded by a twelve-cylinder 47.6 car.'[1]
