From Graces Guide

Note: This is a sub-section of 1913 Brooklands Calendar

'The fifty miles and one hour records in section B of the cubic capacity classes, for which there recently been much competition, were captured at Brooklands on Saturday by Mr. W. O. Bentley, who, driving a D.F.P. car, covered the fifty miles in 36 min 29.81 sec, equalling a speed of 82.2 miles per hour, and in one hour travelled 82 miles 256 yards, a pace of 82.15 miles per hour. Both performances improve on the previous record speeds accomplished by a Humber car to the extent of some six miles per hour.'[1]
