They specialised in cast iron castings and are one of the most commonly seen names on manhole covers and other street ironware.
They started off in Holborn, London but then moved out to Kent.

1933 Court case. '...Alexander Charles Woodrow, a partner in the firm of A. C. Woodrow and Co., the patentees of this type of gully, stated that the type fitted with one bar came into existence in 1923, and the open barless type in 1925. They had supplied nearly 6,000 to various Councils, and had never had a complaint of an accident occurring in connection with the open type which had been approved by the Ministry of Transport...'[4]
