1954 Died. 'The death occurred at Lochcote, Linlithgw, on Sunday, of Mr Alexander G. Ramage, who for many years was shipyard manager of Ramage & Ferguson, Ltd., shipbuilders, Leith, Mr Ramage. who was about 80, retired from the firm shortly before the First World War. His father, the late Mr Richard Ramage, was managing director of the company, and his brother, the late Mr John C. Ramage, engineer manager. During the period he served with the firm - which in 1934 was taken over by Henry Robb. Ltd. - Many famous luxury steam yachts and notable four and five-masted sailing ships as well as merchant vessels for all parts of the world, were built.'[1]
