1924 A. McCowan and Sons Limited was incorporated, with capital of £5,000, to carry on the business of manufacturers, merchants, exporters, and importers of confectionary, chocolates, etc.[1] The company's best-known product was its Highland Toffee.

1991 The company's name had been changed to Wanlaw Limited by the time it was dissolved.[2]
