St. Paul's School and City and Guilds of London Technical Institute. Served a three years' pupilage in Electrical and Marine Engineering workshops. Assistant Engineer in the Electricity Department of the Blackpool Corporation and subsequently employed as Inspecting Engineer by Robert Hammond, M.Inst.C.E. In 1897 was appointed Managing Engineer to the Reading Electric Supply Co., Ltd., and in 1905 Managing Engineer to the Bombay Electric Supply and Tramways Co., Ltd. Retired from this position in 1913 and has since been in practice as a Consulting Engineer, acting for several undertakings in India. Director of several private companies. Clubs: Royal Automobile and Queens, London; Byculla, Bombay. War Services.—Consulting work in connection with munitions and service under the Admiralty.
