1897 A. and R. Vannan Limited was registered, with capital of £50,000, to acquire and continue the business of A. and R. Vannan, wholesale wine and spirit merchants, wines shippers and importers and exporters, and tea merchants, Glasgow. The business was said to be established for upwards of 90 years. According to their abridged prospectus, the principal object of forming a limited liability company was to enable the vendors to pay out the representatives of a deceased partner.[1]

The company were proprietors of the popular Brig o' Turk Highland Whisky.

1915 As a consequence of the depression in trade, the company went into voluntary liquidation.[2]
