1949 Separate departments established for switchgear, control, and radio manufacture.

1960 AEI reorganised its 3 main operating companies into product divisions[1], one of which specialized in radio and electronic components.

Perhaps this was also known as AEI Electronic Division

c.1968 After AEI was acquired by GEC, GEC-AEI (Electronics) was formed as a combination of the relevant GEC and AEI businesses.

1968 The Wire and Cable businesses of AEI were brought together under a unified management; the business could offer all types of wire from fine wire for electronics to heavy duty cable[2]
