AEI Lamp and Lighting Co

Glass envelopes were manufactured by BTH at Chesterfield
By 1956 was AEI Lamp and Lighting Co, a part of AEI
1957 AEI started to introduce product-based businesses: AEI Lamp and Lighting Co, as well as Birlec and Hill Top Foundry Co., were associated with the BTH business[1]
1961 Glass Tubes and Components formed as a joint venture to take over the glass manufacture and sales activities of GEC at Lemington, and Wembley and the AEI Lamp and Lighting Co at Chesterfield, other than Glass Bulbs Ltd.[2]. Lamp Metals Ltd was also formed at this time to acquire parts of the company and of GEC.
1964 Merged with the lighting interests of Thorn Electrical Industries to form a new joint company, British Lighting Industries, one of the largest lighting groups in Europe.[3]
The reconstituted board of directors was as follows: Mr A. Deutsch, chairman, Mr. J. G. Christopher, Mr J. Clement, Mr S. R. Eade, Mr S. Hale.[4]
