Details. The small square depression in the spandrel, to the left of the '&', is the head of a countersunk bolt. Such fixings were widely used on early cast iron bridges

A small single span cast iron bridge cast by Acramans of Bristol for the Wilts and Berks Canal Co in 1824. It carries a road over the River Ock, close to its confluence with the Thames.
