1800 'Tuesday night, two trowmen, belonging to a Severn and Wye trow, having stolen an anchor from Messrs. Acraman and Sons, one of them going down the ladder of the Quay-wall, Bristol, and using the most impious language whilst in this act of wickedness, the anchor fell on his head and killed him.'[1]
