Ailsa

From Graces Guide

Ailsa were based in Irvine near the island of Ailsa Craig.

1967 the company was set up to import Volvo trucks into the UK.

1971 the Ailsa bus company was started. It firstly imported B58 coach chassis into the UK.

1980 the MARK III was launched the Volvo rear axle was substituted.

They were a major supplier to Scottish Bus Group.

The last model that Ailsa produced was the Citybus.

1983 the Citybus was sold as a Volvo.

1985 Ailsa production stopped.
