1943 Died. 'Following an accident a month ago, the death took place in hospital on June 24 of Albert Winstanley, L.R.I.B.A., of Orchard Road, St. Annes, a well-known architect and surveyor, who for many years had specialised in kinema and theatre design, doing work in many parts of the country. Mr. Winstanley, who was 67, had suffered from partial blindness for some years. He was knocked down by a train at Kirkham, it being presumed that he slipped from the platform as the train was drawing in. He received severe injuries and one leg had to be amputated.'[1]
