1972 Scheme at Aldwarke - announcement by the British Steel Corporation of an £8,000,000 plan involving their Park Gate undertaking.[2]

1974 The first of two 185-ton capacity electric arc furnaces to be transferred from the British Steel Corporation's Templeborough Melting Shop was officially commissioned at the Aldwarke Melting Shop on Wednesday. [5]
