Alexander McDonald (1821-1881)

Born 1821 and at the age of 7 worked down in the pitt. He later became educated at Glasgow University, with which he then dedicated 40 years with rights for miners.

In 1874 McDonald was elected to represent Stafford, which he then went forward to reform the labour laws.

Died 1881 after prolonged illness.
