1840 Born in Strood, Kent, the son of Alfred Fisher, an Artist, and his wife Anne Winch Still

1869 Marriage to Helen Elizabeth Jane Campbell Wright Fisher. 'At Battersea, Mr. A. F. J. Fisher, A.I.C.E. Resident. Engr. Great Indian Peninsula Railway, Bombay Presidency, to Helen E. J. C. W., daughter of Mr. J. Fisher, Dalston, London, April 7.'[1]

1877 Patent. '283. To Alfred Francis John Fisher, Civil Engineer, of Pelsall, in the.county of Stafford, for the invention of "improvements in the construction of certain parts of puddling furnaces."'[2]

1881 Living at Lichfield Road, Rushall, Staffs: Alfred F. J. Fisher (age 43 born Strood, Kent), Pig Iron Manufacturer - Widower. With his two daughters Dorothy J. C. Fisher (age 7 born Stoke) and Margaret M. Fisher (age 5 born Pelsall). Two servants.[3]
