Alfred Stedall (1841-1913) of A. Stedall

Born the son of Rowland Tyler Stedall and his wife Elizabeth Bard Bird.

1864 Married at London to Mary Harriet Barker and had children Alice and Albert.

1911 Living at 196 Denmark Hill, London, S.E.: Alfred Stedall (age 70 born London), Costumier (Widower). With his widowed sister and several servants.[1]

1913 Died. Well known owner of horses and raced on flat and National Hunt. In a very large way of business as a wholesale and retail mantle dealer and manufacturer. Regarded as a man of great wealth.[2]

1913 Died. 'The death occurred on Tuesday of Mr. Alfred Stedall, Chairman of Messrs. A. Stedall, Limited, mantle and costume manufacturers, Cannon-street, at his residence, The Chestnuts, Denmark Hill. Mr. Stedall, who was in his seventy-third year, was taken ill suddenly at business on Tuesday afternoon in last week, and found to be suffering from blood poisoning. The funeral took place at St. Paul’s Church, Herne Hill, on Thursday, and at the same hour a memorial service was held at the Church of Bt. Andrew by the Wardrobe, Queen Victoria-street.'[3]
