1891 Living at 27 Dix's Field, Exeter: Alfred Wheaton (age 38 born Hatfield), Bookseller and Stationer. With his wife Belinda and two sons Frederick Wheaton (age 13 born Exeter), and Alfred Anstice Wheaton (age 4 born Exeter); also four daughters.[1]
1911 Living at 1 Mont le Grand, Heavitree, Exeter: Alfred Wheaton (age 58 born Hatfield), Bookseller, Stationer, Printer. Married but wife not listed. With his two daughters and three sons; Alfred Anstice Wheaton (age 24 born Heavitree), Assistant bookseller, stationer; Harold Wheaton (age 20 born Exeter), Assistant bookseller, stationer; and Roger Wheaton (age 15 born Heavitree).[2]
1931 Died in Victoria, British Columbia. For 65 years connected with Wheaton and Co and was MD until three years ago when he went abroad. The business was originally carried on by his aunts on the corner of North Street now Messrs. Cornish. He lived for 25 years at Marlands, Heavitree. He leaves a widow and daughter in British Columbia and four sons and a daughter in Exeter.[3]
