ALLEN MASON BRAND, born in London in 1861, died at Bombay on the 23rd November, 1911. After serving a pupilage with Wilkinson and Jarvis, of Westminster, he obtained, in 1886, an appointment as Assistant Engineer on the Great Indian Peninsula Railway. Serving successively as Resident and as District Engineer, he was appointed, in 1911, Acting Deputy Chief Engineer and was posted to Bombay, where he succumbed to fever and pneumonia.

Mr. Brand was elected a Member of The Institution on the 6th April, 1897.
