Ambergate, Nottingham and Boston, and Eastern Junction Railway
1846 This company was formed by the combination of the Nottingham and Boston Railway, the Nottingham, Erewash Valley and Ambergate Railway and the Nottingham, Vale of Belvoir and Grantham Railway. The line opened from Colwick Junction to Grantham in 1850
1855 the line was leased to the Great Northern Railway (GNR) after protracted disputes with the Midland Railway (MR).
1860 the name was changed to the Nottingham and Grantham Railway and Canal Co
1923 it became part of the London and North Eastern Railway (LNER}
