1895 Obituary [1]

ANDREW DENNY TOLMIE died at Glasgow on November 6, 1895, after a brief illness, from typhoid fever. He was the chief sale agent for the Consett Iron Company (Limited) in Scotland, and was intimately connected with the Clyde shipbuilding industry. He was an enthusiastic volunteer Major in the 5th Volunteer Battalion of the Highland Light Infantry, he had passed with distinction the examination in tactics laid down for captains in the army.

He was elected a member of the Iron and Steel Institute in 1884.
