Watermark in paper used for postage stamps in Canada, first issued in 1868, supplied by Andrew Whyte and Son Ltd, paper merchants and manufacturing stationers, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
1899 Andrew Whyte and Son Limited, Bothwell Works, Easter Road, Edinburgh, was incorporated as a public company, with capital of £65,000, to acquire the business of Andrew Whyte and Son, wholesale and export stationers, Edinburgh and Glasgow.[1]
1922 Listed Exhibitor. Manufacturer of Account Books, School and University Stationery, Notepapers, Writing Tablets, Compendiums, Envelopes, Relief Stamping, Reporters' Books, Letter Books. (Stand No. L.57).[2]
1986 The company, having changed its name to Hopetoun Stationers Limited, went into liquidation.[3]
1996 The company was finally dissolved.[4]
