Milkmaid brand condensed milk.

1866 Charles and George Page helped establish the Anglo-Swiss Condensed Milk Company. Using abundant supplies of fresh milk in Switzerland, they applied knowledge gained in their homeland, the USA, to establish Europe’s first production facility for condensed milk in Cham. They started supplying Europe’s industrial towns with the product under the Milkmaid brand, marketing it as a safe, long-life alternative to fresh milk.

1870 Established facilities in England[1]

1882 Anglo-Swiss expanded into the USA, but the death of George Page frustrated its plans.

1902 it sold its US-based operations

1905 Merged with the Nestlé Co

1907 Had 5 large factories at Aylesbury, Chippenham, Middlewich, Staverton, near Trowbridge and Tutbury, near Derby, even though condensed milk was widely believed to be a foreign product.[2]

By 1908 the combined company was operating under the name of the Nestlé and Anglo-Swiss Condensed Milk Company, retaining that name until 1947.
