1832 December 22nd. Death. At 10 Albany Street, Leith, Anthony Henry Gutzmer, Civil Engineer. Age 44.[2] [3][4]

1838 Sale notice: 'TO ENGINEERS OR MILLWRIGHTS ELIGIBLE OPENING. TO LET, the PHOENIX ENGINE-WORK, LEITH . These commodious and central Premises, near YARD-HEADS, LEITH, sometime occupied by the late T. H. GUTZMER, Engineer, consisting of a suitable Yard, large Smith's Shop, Millwright, Pattern and Finishing Shops, Brass and Boiler Furnaces, Counting-Room, &c., are now to be Let. The Tenant may have at a valuation the whole fixed and large Machinery on the premises, consisting of a large Planing Machine, a Punching or Paring Machine, Turning and Boring Lathes, Four-Horse Engine, by which the same are wrought. Smiths' Forges , &c. &c. If more suitable to the Tenant, these articles may be let with the premises. The premises are calculated and fitted up for carrying on an extensive business in Engineering and Machine and Boiler Making in all their branches, and the Machinery, &c., is in complete working order, and of the best description.
The premises are well adapted for carrying on business, and admirably situated for the large and daily increasing Steam-boat Work of the port of Leith, being within a few minutes' walk of the Harbour and Docks, with easy access from both.
They would be particularly suitable for a Steam-Boat Company having vessels plying to Leith, who might wish to have an Establishment there for making and repairing their Machinery.
