1950 ARMSTRONG-SIDDELEY HURRICANE
The Hurricane is a drophead coupe of a style and performance in keeping with the high standards set by the Armstrong-Siddeley organisation. It is named after the immortal Hawker Hurricane, of Battle of Britain fame.
Although only two doors are fitted, these are of such wide proportion that there is no difficulty in entering or leaving the rear seats. The front seats are independently adjustable and can be positioned to form a bench seat with room for three, giving, with the rear seat, accommodation for a maximum of six passengers, if required. This is a feature common to all three of the current models by Armstrong-Siddeley.
The interesting feature of the Hurricane is the three-position hood, which is easily operated and can be neatly furled. Zip fasteners are used to seal the hood when erected, making it completely waterproof. When the hood is in the three-quarter position the car takes on the appearance of a smart coupe de ville, giving open-air motoring with almost closed car protection.
