1926 A new design produced at the Coventry Works by Armstrong Whitworth Aircraft - this was a general purpose two-seater aeroplane, designed to carry a load of 1000 lb. , together with four hours' supply of petrol. It was driven by an Armstrong Siddeley 380 horse-power "Jaguar" engine, and has a speed near the ground of 145 miles an hour.
