1879 Born.
Technical Training: Nottingham University
Articled with Blackburn, Starling and Co, Nottingham, Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, finally taking charge of the installation contracts.
1906 joined Pinching and Walton, Cannon Street, London, taking charge of power installation work
1908 Started business in Nottingham, trading as the Pneumatic Bell and Patents Co.
Designer and Inventor of the Butler suspension jack, Butler & Webb pneumatic bell installations, and other patents.
Then joined the Nottingham Corporation Tramways as Electrical Engineer
1912 joined Ronald Trist and Co of 4, Lloyds Avenue, London, E.C., as Chief of the Technical Staff
WWI In conjunction with Ronald Trist, designed, erected and ran two chemical plants for the manufacture of Paramidophenol Hydrochlorate and Phenacetin.
1917 appointed Works Manager, controlling the manufacture of Boiler Feed Water Regulators, Pump Governors, Steam Plant Fittings, Safety Devices and Apparatus for Marine Installations.
