Arthur Edward Gilbert (c.1855-1941)

c.1855 Born in Carlisle

1881 a telegraph engineer, lived in Monifieth[1]

1882 Elected to the Society of Telegraph Engineers and Electricians. Engineer for the Highland Railway.

1887 was an associate of the Society, of Inverness.

1888 Several of Gilbert's semaphore repeaters had been in operation for 12 months on the Highland Railway in severe conditions[2]

1890 of Carphin, Broughty Ferry, N.B.

1891 Arthur E. Gilbert 46, electrical engineer, lived in Byker, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, with Elizabeth Gilbert 34[3]

1891 of National Telephone Co, Quayside, Newcastle-on-Tyne
