1871 Residing at 1 Cavendish Villa, Wellesley Road, Croydon: William Kennard (age 47 born deal), Linen Draper. With his wife Sarah B. and their children Harriet W. (age 18), Frederick W. Kennard (age 11), Arthur G. Kennard (age 10), Sarah E. (age 3) and Florence A. (age 2).[1]

1911 Residing at 50 St. Augustines Avenue, South Croydon: Arthur Grover Kennard (age 50 born Croydon), General Retail, Draper. With his wife Alice Caroline and daughter Olive Lavel Kennard.[2]

1936 January 15th. Died. 'MR. A. G. KENNARD Son of Founder of Famous Store ‘ Mr. Arthur G. Kennard, Radcliffe road, Croydon, died in Croydon General Hospital on Wednesday as a result of injuries he received on Monday evening, when he was knocked down near his home by a motor car. He Had just left the house to post a letter. Mr. Kennard, who was seventy-five years of age, was a son of the late Mr. William Kennard who founded the well known Kennards Stores, North End, Croydon, in 1883. At that time the firm had about ten employees; to-day it has over 1,000. Mr. Arthur Kennard was for some time a partner in the firm, and retired in 1920.'[3]
