The Austin A.70 Hampshire is a four-door saloon in what was formerly known as the 16 h.p. class. The general styling of the car is in the modern vein, but not to such an extent that it could not be identified as a typical Austin product.
The seating arrangements could permit a maximum of six passengers to be carried, but four people can be accommodated very comfortably when the folding elbow rests of the front and rear seats are brought into use.
Performance figures for the A.70 are in keeping with its sturdy business like appearance. Top speeds of over 90 m.p.h. can be obtained, with good road-holding qualities, and high average speeds can be maintained over long distances without fatigue.
