1861 B. Lilly and Sons were founded by Benjamin Lilly in 1861. The address was initially that of the house where they lived - 73 Brearley Street.
1881 Benjamin Lilly died and the firm moved to 54 and 56 Barr Street, where they operated for quite some years but eventually moved to Baltimore Road, Great Barr - date of move unknown.
1937 Listed Exhibitor - British Industries Fair. Makers of Cabinet, Builders' and General Brassfoundry. Speciality: Cabinet Handles (modern and reproduction). Door Handles, Stamped and Capstan Work. Special work and designs to customer's specification. (Stand No. A.742)
1966 Patent - Lever-handle door latch fittings.
1975 Patent - Window Fittings Such as Casement Stays and Fasteners. (of 101 Baltimore Road, Birmingham).
