1850 Benjamin Hall Blyth commenced business on his own account, his first work being the Slamannan and Bo’ness Branch of the Monkland Railway.

1854 With increasing work Benjamin brought his brother, Edward L. I. Blyth, into partnership

The firm operated at least to 1863

1866 George Miller Cunningham became a partner and the firm became Blyth and Cunningham
