1843 Advert: 'MESSRS. CROSSLEYS & LEEMING beg to announce to their Friends and the Public, that they have fitted up on the most approved principle for WOOD GRINDING, &c. &c. the mill lately occupied by Messrs. Job Aspinall and Sons; situate near to the Gas Works, and they have engaged a Man of first-rate ability to take the Management of the Grinding Business.
C. & L. are not themselves in the Wood line, therefore they hope by strict attention to the orders entrusted to them in the GRINDING BRANCH, to obtain and secure an adequate share of Public patronage and support.

GEO. TINKER AND SON will SELL BY AUCTION, on the above premises on Monday, the 24th day of April, 1899 (by instructions from Messrs. Hutchinson, Hollingworth and Co., Limited, Dobcross, who recently purchased the above from Messrs. John Crossley and Co., Limited, and who have for some time earned on the business at the above premises, but have now transferred the same to their Works at Dobcross, where they have fitted up a department with new and special Machines and Tools for the making of Carpet Machinery in allits branches).
