A rare example of a canal transhipment warehouse, with an integral dock branching off the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. Built in 1874.

It was connected to the mains of the Liverpool Hydraulic Power Co. Some of the hydraulic jiggers, made by the Hydraulic Engineering Co of Chester, were still in situ in 2019.[1]
