1781 Born in Beverley, Yorks[1]
Gained experience in farming before moving to Shropshire
1805 Married Ann Darby (1779-1840), daughter of Abraham Darby (1750-1789)
1810 Left agriculture to become manager of the Horsehay Works of the Coalbrookdale Co after the death of his brother-in-law Edmund Darby.
1824 First spoke as a Quaker minister
1827 He retired from the works
Their daughter, Hannah, married Joseph Sturge of Birmingham
1852 Died in Coalbrookdale.
