Beaufoy and Co

of 87, South Lambeth Road, London, S.W., vinegar brewers.

1730 (or early 1740s) Established by Mark Beaufoy (1718-1782) - a manufactory of vinegar and 'mimicked wines' at Cuper's Garden, south of the River Thames.

1810 the company moved to South Lambeth, between Vauxhall and Stockwell, on part of Noel Caron's estate.

1928 Merged with Grimble and Co to form Beaufoy Grimble and Co.

1932 Became part of British Vinegars Ltd

1941 The Beaufoy family's connection with vinegar production ended when George Maurice Beaufoy (1893-1941) was killed by enemy action in the yard.
