Becker-Brainard Milling Machine Co

The Brainard Milling Machine Co was established by Amos H. Brainard in June, 1871.

Amos Brainard was born in Newburyport, Mass, on 27 March 1824. He learned the trade of carriage maker in Boston. He established a machine shop in Boston, before transferring the business to Hyde Park and naming it the Union Vise Co. He later began the manufacture of milling machines.[1].

The Brainard Milling Machine Co. and the John Becker Manufacturing Co., of Fitchburg, Mass., merged to form the Becker-Brainard Milling Machine Co. Amos H. Brainard was the President and John Becker the General Manager.
