1920 Company founded.

1943 The Belmos Company Limited was incorporated, with capital of £50,000, to take over as a going concern the business of electrical engineers and manufacturers of electrical equipment carried on by the Belmos Company, Bellshill.[1]

1949 Johnson and Phillips Ltd took a financial interest in the company in order to expand their product range to include flameproof switchgear, a speciality of Belmos[2]

1961 Colliery and industrial switchgear manufacturers. Specialists in switch and control gear. 1,100 employees.[3]

1961 Acquired by Bruce Peebles and Co Ltd, who had the same chairman[4]
