Born the sixth son of John Broadbent

1861 Living at 304 Edge, Longwood, Huddersfield: John Broadbent (age 65 born Lindley), Merchant and Mill Owner. With his wife Esther, a daughter and three sons - Butterworth Broadbent (age 24 born Lindley), Merchant; Benjamin Broadbent (age 11 born Longwood); and Arthur Broadbent (age 6 born Longwood).[1]

1925 Died. 'Mr. B. Broadbent (75), Bindley, Huddersfield, formerly director the Parkwood Mills Co., the Longwood Finishing Co., and of the Engineering Co., and Messrs. John Broadbent and Sons, woollen manufacturers, one time Mayor of Huddersfield, Freeman of the Borough.'[2]
