Benjamin Edwin West ( -1913) of Edwin West and Co
1913 Died. 'We heard with great regret this morning that the body of Mr. Benjamin Edwin West, well-known Northampton boot manufacturer, was found in the Grand Junction Canal at Stoke Bruerne on Thursday afternoon. Mr. West, who lived at Grafton Cottage, Blisworth....Mr. West was at one time a partner in the business established by and then carried on in the name of Cove and West. Mr. B. E. West subsequently took over the business and in 1896 a limited company was formed with a capital of £50,000. The firm went into liquidation in 1907. The Mounts Factory Company took over the business, and Mr. West entered the employ of the company as manager. Subsequently Mr. West formed the Broad-street Company.[1]
