1982 J. Bibby and Sons purchased the European laboratory glassware business of Corning of USA, including the factory at Stone, the Pyrex brand and certain other interests[1]. These would be grouped together under a new Bibby subsidiary, Scientific Products. In the long run, this will form the core of a new Scientific Products division within Bibby, taking in the Sterilin hospital and laboratory supplies operation [2]

1987 Makers of Pyrex and Quickfit brands. Acquired W. G. Flaig and Sons.[3]

1988 Bibby acquired US laser company Melles Griot which was added to the Scientific Products Division[4]

1990 Name of J. Bibby Scientific Products Ltd was changed to Bibby Sterilin Ltd
