1874 Henry Bickford began building drilling machines.

1887 Became the Bickford Tool Co.

1893 when they reorganized again as the Bickford Drill and Tool Co. They went on to specialise in radial arm drilling machines.

1909 Merged with the Cincinnati Machine Tool Co. to create the Cincinnati Bickford Tool Co.

1955 Acquired by the Giddings and Lewis Machine Tool Co. and became the Cincinnati Bickford Division of the Giddings & Lewis Machine Tool Co.
