Railway Station at New Street, Birmingham
1852-3 The roof was erected; it was a prototype for the roof at Charing Cross Railway Station, London.
After failure of a tie-rod at Charing Cross in 1905, leading to the collapse of the roof, the New Street roof was strengthened.[1]
