Two Blake ram pumps at Westonzoyland Museum

John Blake invented the Blake's Hydram in the mid 1800s. Another example of fine Victorian engineering, the Hydram is capable of pumping water using only the power of a flowing body of water.

They are still produced today by Allspeeds which is testimony to its efficiency and simplicity.

Their current website has all the details.
