'...to use any invention which may seem to the company capable of being used in the manufacture of buoyant or of life-saving appliances, or capable of being profitably dealt with, or which may seem capable of being used for any purposes of the company, and with such view to enter into an agreement made between Francis Wentworth Brewster and the company. The first directors are R. Northal Laurie, General Paget, F. H. Pollexfen, and F. W. Brewster.'[1]
